It was a dark and stormy night. It was a bright and gorgeous afternoon, perfect for a tour of the farm this past weekend. I jumped into the truck (actually I ease into trucks now) and our caravan of four-wheelers, a Jeep and truck got underway. The paths started off bumpy, but passable. The hiking part was yet to start.
Our first stop was in a pasture to look at the cows, who leered back at us with bovine indifference.
At one point we had to leave the beaten path and proceed by foot.
Hmm. . . should I go under, or over, or around an obstacle? For a three-year old, the direct route seemed the most logical.
The “Cliffs of Insanity” beckoned the young and agile.
By evening, trekkers were ready for food and kids ready for bed. I was ready for both.
