Lucy Befriends My Rock Garden
I thought you might like to see how the rock garden at the farm is faring. (These photos were taken a few weeks ago when I was in Rolla, so I’m expecting other blossoms the next time I’m there.)
We don’t get to the farm as often as I’d like. Fortunately, my friend, Lucy, looks for ways to make the earth kinder and more beautiful. She has adopted our rock garden.

A well-dressed garden companion eases the chore of weeding. Lucy has a lovely English garden of her own and knows what to plant and when. A plant wouldn’t dare succumb on her watch. Lucy hovers over each one and whispers: “Grow.”

My third try at growing a fig tree. This one looks quite happy. Fingers crossed for making it through the winter.

I love my Russian Sage and so do the bees and wasps.

Fortunately, the rocks and flagstone need no tending.

Wild Daisies (Daisey Fleabane). These grow along the sides of country roads, but they can also brighten a garden.
