Truffle Potato Fries
These days Cyndy and I are always on the lookout for restaurants with a spacious patio. One of the best is in the Seven Gables, a 32-room boutique hotel, just a few blocks from where I live. In recent years, it’s been extensively remodeled and the iconic restaurant renamed. It’s no longer Molly Darcy; it’s now just Seven.
The large interior patio in the heart of downtown Clayton is an oasis for those wanting to unmask and enjoy an outdoor meal.

Cyndy eyes the menu in Seven’s open-air courtyard. As you can see, they have standing fans (on far left ) and standing heaters (far right).

This puffy pot pie has been a signature dish for years. This one’s as good, or better, than grandma used to make.
The new menu at Seven still features a number of the “Lost Classics,” favorites from the menu of long-gone restaurants. Cyndy and I had the much-missed, but not forgotten, Busch’s Grove Russ Salad with it’s turkey, ham, and shrimp additions.

The Russ Salad, once a highlight of the Busch’s Grove menu, is now a feature at Seven.

Take a break from the world in Seven’s interior courtyard. It will do more for your well-being than an hour spent with your therapist.
