Whimsical art work highlights downtown Clayton during the three-day art fair each September.
Living just a few blocks from the St. Louis Art Fair means I can easily go one or more times. My first trip was just as things were getting underway on Friday at 5 p.m. I even bought a few items before the crowd began to pick up an hour later. I plan another walk around on Sunday. Who knows, maybe I’ll see you there! 🙂
The juried event was up to its usual high standards with artists and sellers from all over the country. I took a few photos so you could get an idea of what was being offered in the various booths. And because food is an art form, one whole block is devoted to the best of local restaurants.
Take a look at the fair’s great website featuring an aerial map, all the vendors, and some very artsy tee shirts.

These lamps bring both art and light to a small table.

Loved this booth with the purses and cuff bracelets.

This beautiful piece reminded me of a jar of M&Ms. I like art that makes me smile.

One of the artists specialized in paintings of Cuba. His street scenes (photos above and below) took me back to my visit to the island 15 years ago.
Don’t miss this fun event where, there’s a little something for everyone in the family to enjoy.
