I had met Sally Field many years ago at an event in Columbia. She acted like she remembered!! I was impressed.
Forrest Gump’s mother is in town. Better known as Sally Field. She’s on a book tour touting her new bio In Pieces, that’s been described as “somber, intimate and at times a wrenching self portrait.” Last night she did a gig for state senate candidate Ryan Dillon at the home of Mayor Terry Crow in U City.

Mary MacFarland, of St. Louis and Rolla, had finished the bio by the time she met Sally Field.
The much beloved actress looks and acts quite chipper for a septuagenarian (she’s 71) remembered for her roles, ranging from the whacky Flying Nun to her antics as Burt Reynolds’ romantic sidekick in Smokey and the Bandit. Other memorable films include, Steel Magnolias, Gidget, Sybil, and Mrs. Doubtfire.
Sally’s infectious charm and ability to connect with people come through in person as well as on the screen. Welcome to St. Louis, Sally!
