We used to play parlor games that tested how many African countries you could name or how many presidents or even how many of the Ten Commandments. The next time you’re sitting with friends at a sidewalk table in the Central West End, ask how many restaurants they can name in the area. Admittedly, it’s a moving number; they come and go or re-brand.
I went to one recently to celebrate my grandson’s 22nd birthday, a place that started as a vodka bar. Subzero lays claim to having the most extensive drink list in the areas and the most vodka varieties in the country. Now I’m not among the vodka cognoscente, but I do enjoy a creative sushi platter and Subzero’s diverse menu includes makimono, nigiri, and sashimi. Burgers come in many varieties, too: kobe beef, turkey, lamb, and veggie. Take a look. . . .

Despite the frosty-sounding name, the food and folks at Subzero do wonders at thawing the coldest days. A great place to chill-out in the Central West End.
