Bella and Elwood, wet dogs, “quarantined” outdoors last summer.
Normally, I talk to the dogs with their noses smushed up against the glass door to my kitchen. But yesterday after Martha, brought me some soup bones (yes, I finally got those bones thanks to my neighbor), we visited for a good while through the glass door barrier. I was thrilled to have a close-up, yet safe, visit with my old friend.
So if you’re desperate for some real face time with family and friends, this works better then the shaky screen on Facebook’s chat app. A glass window would work as well. Seating could even be arranged for extended conversations. This may feel a bit like visiting with a prisoner through a glass partition, but it does shorten social distancing and makes for a more normal exchange.
Be creative, keep cool, stay safe. Virtual hugs to all.
