As a food blogger, I love to unearth a “hole in the wall,” that surprises me with their food. One of my favorites is Fork & Stix, where I supped with Robin and Lucy recently.
There was only a meager chance of rain, so we ate outdoor on the plant-lined patio, where the sound level doesn’t go beyond chirping birds.

Lucy and I went with the Pad Thai. But we all clashed forks over the last of the shared Mango Salad.

Drats! With all the girl talk going on at our table, I neglected to get an order of spring rolls, which alone are worth the trip. This is from a previous visit.
I had a long and splendid visit with the Thai owner, Phatche {pronounced Patch). We talked about her time in Thailand. And I shared my memories of planting a tree at a Webster College outpost near Bangkok. (The sapling flourished, incidentally, which is more than I can say for the trees I plant in the clay-packed soil at the farm.)
