Russ at Soulard Market last summer. What a difference a year makes when your barber is in lockdown.

Russ put on a mask and made a run to Soulard Market this passed weekend and brought me some fresh produce. (With a 3 month growth of hair and beard, I barely recognized him!)

A sample of the fresh veggies from my “delivery man.” Isn’t that a gorgeous head of Bibb lettuce! More about Soulard Market here, here and here.

I got those green beans and potatoes in the pot lickity-split. Long-cooked green beans and potatoes are one of my springtime favorites.

While I wait on the beans and potatoes, I treated myself to another pleasure of warm weather—freshly brewed iced tea.
An Offer I Thought I’d Never Make
When I discovered I was down to my last two rolls of TP, but long on paper towels, I made Russ an offer.
“I’ll trade you two paper towels for two rolls of TP.”
He laughed and said that he’d found TP most often during early morning shopping, when the shelves are freshly stocked.
