Cool Off at Katy’s
It was comfortable enough to eat on the patio when Russ, Deb, and I stopped at Katy’s Pizza in Rock Hill for lunch. Bella, my granddog, joined us, too, since the patio is Fido friendly. The sweet Newfoundland is perfectly behaved and enjoys strangers making over her as they often do. A pleasant dining companion, indeed.
We were about to order when a few drops of rain began to fall. Within minutes the gentle shower turned into a blowing downfall. The rain swept sideways and into the enclosure, causing diners to head for cover further underneath the patio roof.

A quick fix keeps the rain out.
Back to the Table
The wait staff quickly swung into action. The drop sides of the patio cover were pulled together to form a dry enclosure. Our server wiped down the wet tables and the plastic menus and we continued our ordering.
She even brought Bella a bowl of water. Being a Newfoundland, anything related to water suits her just fine. I was impressed not only by the food that followed, but ease with which staffers handled the awkward situation.
