I spent the morning strolling through Tower Grove Park. Thousands of others had the same idea and for good reason. It was the first day of the annual International Festival of Nations sponsored by the International Institute. With more than 40 food booth to choose from, I felt like a fly in a candy shop—there were so many tasty treats, I didn’t know where to begin. Below is a photo review of my wanderings.

At the Thai food stand, this man takes his satay cooking very seriously.

Colorful kabobs from the Bulgarian booth.

We stopped at the Malaysian booth, where Chef Bernie Lee (Hiro Asian Kitchen) dishes up some roti and curry.

Robin gets a scoop of curry from Bernie Lee.

On the “patio” in back of Bernie’s booth, where Robin, JC and I nibble Malaysian food while visiting with local clothing designer Nina Ganci of Skif International. JC holds out for food from his native country of Colombia.

A perfect day for lounging and eating in the park.

Samples dishes of Bulgarian food.

I’ve got to try this with my excess zucchini.

The people selling food from Eritrea offered a colorful and delicious plate.

For those who don’t want to get too far off the gastronomique track, there’s an American booth. But what in the world are Fried Oreos!!!!

This green tea flavored Japanese Ice was very refreshing.

After a bit of bargaining, Robin bought a 5-yard length of Nigerian fabric for an outdoor picnic table at the farm.

More international crafts, arts, clothing, and jewelry.

It was a beautiful day to enjoy the world and its many cultures and flavors. This is a great Sunday outing for family and pets.
