Almond Frangipane Turnover, Pecan Crumb Cake, Double Chocolate Chip and Sea Salt Cookie; Ginger Molasses Cookie
I dropped in at Vicia restaurant again this week. Robin and I were in the area. Since she’d never been there, it was easy to convince her to stop briefly and try one of the cookies. The side room was open, making it possible to enjoy the panoramic view on a lovely day. Most of the noon-hour crowd had moved on, but we still ran onto friends lingering over lunch.

The attentive proprietors Tara and Michael Gallina were both on hand seeing to the well-being of their patrons. They’ve managed to create a compelling space, comfortable surroundings, and a simple but brilliant menu. I’ve not been there for dinner yet; only lunch. It’s on my list.
Oh, yes, back to the cookies. We shared two: the chocolate chip and the ginger molasses, both created that day by Vicia’s bakery chef. Superb!
Strong Suggestion: Treat yourself to lunch or, at least, an afternoon cookie break with a friend! It’s well, worth the stop. Lunch hours: 11a-1:30p. Dinner served Tue-Thu 5:30p-9:30p; Fri-Sat 5:30-10. Reservations are encouraged for dinner, but unnecessary for lunch.
