When you see the white pig in the chef’s hat, you’ll know you’re at The Butchery.
Well, friends and foodies, it looks like we’ll need to batten down the hatches for a bit longer. But in spite of the COVID upsurge, we can still grab our favorite foods at most local restaurants.
One such place, not far from me, is The Butchery adjacent to Truffles on Clayton Road. In addition to being a full-service butchery, there’s freshly made sandwiches, soups, deli salads, desserts, prepared meals, unique wines and artisanal specialty foods.

On line you can find a calendar of the daily meal offering. Such items as: lasagna, chicken curry, beef stroganoff, chicken pot pie, smoked short ribs, meatloaf dinner, General Tso’s chicken, steak fajitas, and more. All are pre-cooked and ready to eat.

Ahh . . . so many choices; too short a lunch hour.
Carrying Out; Lunching In
This week Cyndy, Lucy, and I had a carry out lunch from The Butchery that we enjoyed from my condo. I had the Curried Chicken wrap, that included almonds, cranberries, apple, chicken, lettuce and tomato. The others went with the Turkey, Brie, and Bacon sandwich with Dijon aioli, lettuce and tomato.
We shared a pasta salad and the superb banana-chocolate cake.

Recently, I’ve had curb side pick up from Posh Nosh, Bar Italia, an Dewey’s Pizza. I could get used to that.
