How wonderful to see the sun! I feared it had taken leave of us—gone on a vacation spin to Jupiter and forgotten it’s duty to our planet. In appreciation, I spent much of the day on the deck.
I took photos showing signs of Earth’s return to life: daffodils, forsythia,, rhododendron, wild flowers. I even took pictures of the single dandelion I found in my yard and the moss-covered rocks lining the flower beds.
As I stretch out in my deck chair, gentle breezes swept over me and birds tweeted in the background. I thought of the ancient words from the Song of Solomon: For, lo, the winter is past, the rain is over and gone; the flowers appear on the earth; the time of the singing of birds is come, and the voice of the turtle(dove) is heard in our land. I took a nap.

JC raking leaves–a great bunker pastime.

That evening, Robin and I made a chicken-broccoli stir-fry that was quite nice. I can’t believe we had the ingredients on hand: fresh ginger, garlic, soy sauce, sherry and sesame oil. I’m out of red pepper flakes, though, and it seems every recipe I’ve made recently calls for it.
Meanwhile, Back in the City . . .

My granddaughters relieve their confinement with a walk in the park. My ageing grand-dog, Butter, attired in her little pink vest and a seat belt, gets a ride while being watched over by a guardian angel on skates.
