Part of the fun of being a food blogger is that people send you pictures of food—I call them “foodagraphs.” Readers recommend recipes and restaurants. Some even bring you home baking. Recently, my friend Cyndy brought me some chocolate cookies. We share an affinity for chocolate—a curse that she has conquered better than I.
Chunky Double Chocolate Cookies
It was a good size batch of cookies, so I froze part of them and shared some with weekend guests. And I photographed some, which, of course, meant the cookies had to be eaten after being subject to bright lights and excessive handling.
Photographing chocolate isn’t easy. In addition to the temptation, it just isn’t photogenic. I had to read a few articles to improve my camera technique. I think my chocolate photography definitely requires more experimentation.
Cyndy calls these tasty little morsels Chunky Double Chocolate Cookies. Recipes abound on the Internet, including one from Martha Stewart and those from a bevvy of bloggers, each with a subtle variation on the ingredients. This one from InspiredTaste comes out moist, tender, and puffy and taste much like a good brownie. Cyndy substituted Nestle’s Chocolate Chunks for the milk chocolate, which any true chocolate lover would want to do. Cyndy’s version here.
